Visual Arts

Introduces students to essential digital art and photography skills with a combination of hands on and computer art activities. Students learn core Photoshop techniques such as layers, masks, retouching; Create stickers while exploring Illustrator through basic vector design, logos; develop introductory photography skills focused on strong composition using techniques like rule of thirds, leading lines, and framing. Students will also explore Printmaking techniques while creating punch out stickers and focusing on hat design.

Prerequisite: Computer Art/Photography I 

Builds on skills from Level 1, teaching students DSLR camera operation—including manual exposure, white balance, and creative shooting—while exploring portrait, action, landscape, and studio photography. Students advance their graphic design abilities through more complex Photoshop and Illustrator projects focused on layout, branding, and mixing photography with design, culminating in a skateboard design project. The course also introduces T-shirt design and production, where students create graphics, prepare print-ready files, learn basic screen-printing, and produce their own shirts from concept to final product.

Prerequisite: Computer Art/Photography II

Builds on Level 2 with advanced photography techniques—including studio lighting, long exposure, HDR, macro work, off-camera flash, and conceptual series—to help students develop a personal style through independent projects. Students refine their Photoshop and Illustrator skills with complex compositing, branding, and advanced printing methods such as vinyl stickers, screen-printing variations, and large-format output. The course also introduces projection mapping, where students use specialized software to map visuals onto 3D surfaces and create immersive multimedia installations that blend photography, motion graphics, and design.
